REQUIREMENTS

Part 1. MBBS. No clinical experience now necessary.

Part 2. 1 year in Ophthalmology.

Part 3. 18 months in Ophthalmology

FRCOphth

Final part. 4.5 years as SpR in Ophthalmology.

(check with the College re overseas experience)

EXAMINATIONS

MRCOphth

Part1. 2 MCQ papers, 1 short answer paper

Part 2. 2 MCQ papers, 1 clinical OSCE, 1 OSE, Refraction case

Part 3. 2 MCQ papers, Pathology viva, Ophthalmology cases(4) Neurology or General Medicine cases (3).
