MRCP

 

REQUIREMENTS:  

Part 1.

Must be 18 months from the date of graduation.

Part 2.

At the earliest it can be taken is 2 and 1/2 year from the date of graduation out of which not less than 12 months should be spent in post involving the care of acute medical patients.  

EXAMINATIONS:    

Part 1.      

MCQs only.   300 questions. (60 stems * 5).  Normally 50-60% correct answers are required but this is variable.

Part 2.       

Three sections.

WRITTEN SECTION:

Written section consists of three parts

-Case histories, 4-6 in number.

-Data interpretation, 10 in number.

-Photographic material, usually 20 number.

CLINICAL: 

You are invited to clinical only if  you have pass the written part of part2.  Clinical examination consists of three sections 

-Short Cases.

-Long Case.

-Oral Examination.

Normally there will be a pair of examiners for each stage of clinical exam.
